Bus
From downtown Paterson, walk to the nearest bus stop on Main Street. Take the NJ Transit bus #11 or #190 in the direction of New York City. The ride will take about 30 minutes. Get off at the stop at the corner of Canal Street and Bowery in Manhattan. From there, walk east to reach the entrance of the Manhattan Bridge.
Train
Head to the Paterson Train Station located at 1 Market Street. Take the NJ Transit train on the North Jersey Coast Line towards New York Penn Station. The train ride will take approximately 40 minutes. Once you arrive at Penn Station, transfer to the subway and take the 2 or 3 line downtown to the Clark Street Station in Brooklyn. From there, walk towards the Manhattan Bridge.
Walking
If you are staying in downtown Paterson, you can enjoy a scenic walk. Head east on Market Street, then turn left onto Main Street. Walk straight for about 1.5 miles until you reach the Passaic River. Cross the river via the bridge, and you’ll find yourself at the entrance of the Manhattan Bridge. This walk will take approximately 30-40 minutes.
