Bus
From Paterson, walk to the nearest NJ Transit bus stop. You can catch the 190 or 751 bus lines heading towards New York City. Make sure to check the schedule for the most accurate timings. Once on the bus, stay on until you reach the Port Authority Bus Terminal in New York City. From there, transfer to the subway and take the Q train from the 42nd Street/Times Square station towards Brooklyn. Get off at the Prospect Park station. After exiting the station, walk south towards the park entrance.
Train
Head to the Paterson train station and board a NJ Transit train on the North Jersey Coast Line or the Bergen County Line. You will need to transfer at Secaucus Junction. From Secaucus, take a train towards New York Penn Station. Once at Penn Station, switch to the LIRR and take the train towards Jamaica, getting off at Atlantic Terminal in Brooklyn. From here, you can either walk or take the B41 bus directly to Prospect Park.
Walking
If you are located near downtown Paterson, you can walk to the nearest NJ Transit bus stop (located on Broadway). From there, take the 190 bus towards New York City. Once you reach the Port Authority Bus Terminal, walk to 42nd Street and take the Q train towards Brooklyn. Alight at the Prospect Park station, and then it’s a short walk south to the park entrance.
Bicycle
If you enjoy cycling, you can rent a bike from a local bike rental shop. Start from downtown Paterson and follow the designated bike paths towards the Passaic River. Continue along the river until you reach the George Washington Bridge. Cross over and head into Brooklyn. Once you arrive, follow the signs directing you to Prospect Park. Be sure to use bike lanes where available for safety.
