Public Transit
From Paterson, head to the Paterson Train Station located at 2 Market St. Take the NJ Transit train on the Main Line towards Hoboken. Disembark at Secaucus Junction. At Secaucus Junction, transfer to a train headed to New York Penn Station. Once at Penn Station, follow the signs to the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) platforms and catch a train towards Brooklyn. Your destination will be the Flatbush Avenue station. After arriving at Flatbush Avenue, exit the station and walk south on Flatbush Avenue for approximately 10 minutes. Prospect Park Zoo will be on your left at 450 Flatbush Ave.

From downtown Paterson, locate the NJ Transit bus stop for the 190 or 164 routes. Board the bus heading towards New York. After approximately 30 minutes, get off at the bus stop near the Flatbush Avenue and Ocean Avenue intersection. Walk north on Ocean Avenue for about 5 minutes, then turn left onto Flatbush Avenue. Continue walking for another 5 minutes, and you will find Prospect Park Zoo on your right at 450 Flatbush Ave.

If you are close to the Paterson Museum, you can start your walk from there. Head east on Market Street, then turn right onto Broadway. Continue walking south until you reach the junction with Main Street. Turn left onto Main Street and continue walking until you reach the Paterson Train Station. From there, follow the public transit instructions above to reach Prospect Park Zoo.
