    From Paterson, head to the nearest NJ Transit bus stop. You can catch the #191 or #190 bus heading to New York City. The ride will take about 30-45 minutes depending on traffic. Get off at the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan. Once you arrive at the terminal, take the exit towards 8th Avenue. Walk east on 42nd Street until you reach 5th Avenue. Turn left onto 5th Avenue and walk north for about 5 blocks. St. Patrick's Cathedral will be on your left at 5th Ave, NY 10022.

    Make your way to the Paterson train station and board a NJ Transit train on the North Jersey Coast Line or the Main/Bergen County Line that is heading toward Secaucus Junction. After arriving at Secaucus Junction, transfer to a train bound for New York Penn Station. Once you arrive at Penn Station, exit and head east towards 7th Avenue. Walk north on 7th Avenue until you reach 42nd Street, then turn left and walk east until you reach 5th Avenue. Turn left on 5th Avenue and continue walking north for about 5 blocks. St. Patrick's Cathedral will be on your left.
