Train
Start at the Red Bank train station. Take the NJ Transit North Jersey Coast Line train heading towards Bay Head. You will need to ride for 3 stops until you reach the 'Highlands' station. Once you arrive at the Highlands station, exit the train.
Bus
After exiting the train at Highlands, walk to the bus stop located on Shore Drive. Board the NJ Transit Bus #835 heading towards Sandy Hook. The bus will take you directly to the Sandy Hook Unit. It’s approximately a 15-minute ride.

If you prefer to walk from the bus stop, after getting off the bus at Sandy Hook, you can walk towards the visitor center. Follow the marked paths leading to the beach areas and historical sites within Sandy Hook Unit.
