Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from downtown Trenton, head east on State Street toward Broad Street. Continue straight for about half a mile until you reach the intersection with Route 29. Cross Route 29, and continue on State Street until you reach the Trenton City Hall. From there, turn left onto West State Street and walk for about a quarter mile. You'll pass the Trenton Free Public Library on your right. Continue straight until you reach the entrance to Cadwalader Park. Enter the park and follow the main path straight ahead. The Trenton City Museum/Ellarslie Museum is located at 299 Parkside Ave. It will be on your right as you walk through the park.

  • Public Transit

    If you are near the NJ Transit train station, take the River Line light rail towards Trenton. Get off at the Cass Street station. Once you exit the station, head north on Cass Street, crossing over to Parkside Ave. Continue walking straight on Parkside Ave for about half a mile, and you will arrive at the Trenton City Museum/Ellarslie Museum at 299 Parkside Ave. It will be on your left.

    From the Trenton train station, you can take NJ Transit bus #601 or #607. Board the bus heading toward the State House.
