If you are in downtown Carlsbad, start by heading south on S Canal St towards E Main St. Continue walking straight for about 0.5 miles until you reach S 6th St. Turn left onto S 6th St and walk for another 0.2 miles until you reach E Hall St. Turn right onto E Hall St, and continue for about 0.3 miles. Finally, turn left onto N Canal St, and after about 0.1 miles, you will reach the bus stop for Route 1 heading towards La Jolla. Board the bus and enjoy the scenic ride.

From downtown Carlsbad, walk to the nearest bus stop on E Main St. Take the Route 1 bus towards La Jolla. Stay on the bus for approximately 30-40 minutes, depending on traffic. Get off at the 'La Jolla Shores' stop. From there, walk west towards Avenida De La Playa. It will be a short 5-minute walk, and you will see La Jolla Kayak on the left at 2199 Avenida De La Playa.

If you prefer to bike, rent a bicycle at one of the local rental shops in Carlsbad. Start from downtown and head south on S Canal St, then take a left onto E Hall St. Continue until you reach the coast, then follow the scenic bike paths along the beach which will lead you directly towards La Jolla. Follow the signs for Avenida De La Playa, and you will arrive at your destination in about 25-30 minutes.
