Getting There

• Walking

  If you are in downtown Carlsbad, start at the intersection of Main Street and Texas Street. Head south on Main Street for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with Lea Street. Turn left onto Lea Street and walk for about 0.3 miles until you reach the entrance of Lake Carlsbad. The lake is located on your right, and you’ll see a park area where you can enjoy views of the water.

• Biking

  Begin your bike ride at the Carlsbad Museum and Art Center located at 418 W Fox St. Head east on Fox Street for about 0.4 miles until you reach the intersection with Main Street. Turn left and continue biking south on Main Street for approximately 0.5 miles. When you reach Lea Street, take a left and bike for another 0.3 miles. Lake Carlsbad will be on your right, with bike paths available around the area.

• Public Transportation

  If you prefer public transportation, take the local bus service. Start at the main bus station located on 5th Street near Main Street. Check the schedule for the next bus heading towards Lake Carlsbad. The bus will take you to a stop near the lake. Once you get off, walk about 0.1 miles south to reach the lake area where you can enjoy the scenery.
