After getting off the bus, walk north on S Canal St until you reach Skyline Rd. Turn left onto Skyline Rd, and continue walking for about 0.5 miles. The entrance to Living Desert Zoo & Gardens State Park will be on your right at 1504 Skyline Rd.

If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from a local shop in Carlsbad. Head northwest on W Fox St, then take a right onto S Canal St. Follow S Canal St until it intersects with Skyline Rd. Turn left onto Skyline Rd and continue cycling for approximately 1 mile. The Living Desert Zoo & Gardens State Park will be on your right at 1504 Skyline Rd. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow traffic rules.
