If you are in downtown Farmington, start at the Farmington Public Library located at 2101 Farmington Ave. Head south on Farmington Ave toward E Main St. Turn left onto E Main St and continue for about 0.5 miles. Look for the intersection with NM-516 (Broadway Ave). At this junction, take the right turn onto NM-516 and continue walking for about 1 mile. You will see signs indicating the direction to Kokopelli's Cave. Continue straight on NM-516 until you reach the entrance to Kokopelli's Cave at 87 Rd 1980. The cave is located a short distance from the main road.

For those cycling, begin your route at the Farmington Museum at 3041 E Main St. From the museum, head east on E Main St until you reach the intersection with NM-516.
