If you are traveling by car, start from the center of Jemez Springs. Take NM-4 North for approximately 15 miles. You will drive through beautiful landscapes and might see signs for the Valles Caldera National Preserve. Continue on NM-4; you will pass several scenic viewpoints and the small community of La Cueva. After approximately 15 miles, you will reach the intersection with County Road 29. Turn left onto County Road 29 and continue for about 3 miles. Look for signs indicating Kwage Mesa Trail. There is a parking area available near the trailhead.
