Getting There

  • Bus

    From Los Alamos, head to the nearest bus stop located at 15th Street and Central Avenue. Board the NM Rail Runner Express bus headed south towards Santa Fe. The journey will take approximately 45 minutes. Once you arrive at the Santa Fe Depot, exit the bus and walk east on Camino de la Reina for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with Old Santa Fe Trail. Continue straight onto Old Santa Fe Trail and follow it for another 0.3 miles until you reach Burro Alley, located on your right.

  • Bicycle

    If you prefer to bike, start at the Los Alamos Nature Center and head southeast on Canyon Road. Follow Canyon Road until you reach the junction with NM-502. Continue on NM-502 for about 5 miles until you reach the traffic circle at the entrance of Santa Fe. Take the second exit to continue on Cerrillos Road. After approximately 2 miles, turn left onto Old Santa Fe Trail, and then take a right onto Burro Alley. Your destination will be on the left.

  • Walking

    For those who wish to walk, start at the Los Alamos Visitor Center located on Central Avenue. Walk east on Central Avenue until you reach 15th Street. Turn left and continue walking until you reach NM-502. Follow NM-502 towards Santa Fe. This is a longer walk, approximately 12 miles, so be prepared for a hike! Once you reach Santa Fe, navigate to Burro Alley by walking down Old Santa Fe Trail from the center of town.
