Getting There

• Walking

  Start at the Los Alamos Visitor Center located at 475 20th St, Los Alamos, NM 87544. From the Visitor Center, head southwest on 20th St towards Central Ave. Continue onto Central Ave for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with NM-502. Cross NM-502 carefully and continue straight onto the dirt path that leads towards the Tsankawi Prehistoric Sites. As you approach, you will see signs directing you to the site. The walk will take approximately 1 hour and covers about 2 miles.

• Biking

  If you're biking, start at the Los Alamos Skate Park at 2550 Canyon Rd, Los Alamos, NM 87544. Head east on Canyon Rd for about 0.8 miles until you reach the junction with NM-502. Turn left onto NM-502 and continue for about 1 mile. Look for signs indicating the entrance to the Tsankawi Prehistoric Sites. The total distance is roughly 2 miles, and it should take around 15-20 minutes depending on your biking speed.

• Public Transport (Bus)

  Take the Atomic City Transit bus route from your location in Los Alamos to the nearest stop along NM-502. Check the current bus schedule for the latest departures. Once you disembark, you may need to walk about 0.5 miles along NM-502 towards the Tsankawi Prehistoric Sites. Look for the entrance signs as you approach the site. The bus ride can take approximately 15-30 minutes depending on traffic and stops.
