Getting There

Walking
From the center of Los Alamos, head south on Central Avenue until you reach the intersection with 15th Street. Turn left onto 15th Street and continue walking until you reach the intersection with Canyon Road. Turn right onto Canyon Road and walk towards the entrance of the Los Alamos Nature Center, which is about 0.5 miles from your starting point. Once at the Nature Center, you will find the trailhead for Kwage Mesa Trail located behind the center. Follow the signs to the trailhead, which is approximately a 10-minute walk from the Nature Center.

If you have a bicycle, you can start from the Los Alamos Visitor Center located at 540 Central Avenue. Head south on Central Avenue and then turn left onto 15th Street. Continue on 15th Street until you reach the intersection with Canyon Road. Turn right onto Canyon Road and bike towards the Los Alamos Nature Center. The Kwage Mesa Trailhead is located just behind the Nature Center. The bike ride will take roughly 10-15 minutes, depending on your pace.
