Getting There

  • Walking

    Start from the center of Los Alamos at Ashley Pond Park. Head north on Central Avenue towards the intersection with 15th Street. Continue straight for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with NM-502 (East Los Alamos). Cross the street and turn left to follow the sidewalk along NM-502. After approximately 0.3 miles, turn right onto the Los Alamos County Trail, which will lead you through a wooded area and towards the Ranch School Ice House. Follow the trail for about 1 mile until you reach a clearing where the Ice House is located. Look for signs indicating the historical landmark.

    If you're renting a bike in Los Alamos, start at the Los Alamos Bike Shop on Central Avenue. Head east on Central Avenue and then turn left onto 15th Street.
