If you are in the heart of Ruidoso, start at the Ruidoso Public Library located at 107 Kansas City Rd, Ruidoso, NM 88345. Head southeast on Kansas City Rd for about 0.2 miles until you reach the intersection with Mechem Dr. Turn left onto Mechem Dr. After walking for 0.5 miles, you will see the Grindstone Lake sign on your right at Wiggins Way. Follow the sign to the lake, which will be approximately 0.3 miles further down Wiggins Way.
Biking
For those cycling in Ruidoso, begin at the Ruidoso Convention Center on Mechem Dr. Travel south on Mechem Dr for about 1 mile until you reach Wiggins Way. Turn right onto Wiggins Way and continue for approximately 0.3 miles. You will find Grindstone Lake on your left. Ensure to follow bike lanes where available for safety.
