Start at the Ruidoso Visitor Center located at 1000 Mechem Drive, Ruidoso, NM 88345. Head north on Mechem Drive for about 0.2 miles until you reach the intersection with Sudderth Drive. Turn left onto Sudderth Drive and continue walking for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with Hart Avenue. Turn right onto Hart Avenue. Continue walking for another 0.3 miles, and you will arrive at 235 Hart Ave, which is the location of the Ruidoso Lookout Tower.

If you have a bike, start at the Ruidoso River Trailhead located near the Ruidoso Convention Center. Follow the paved path along the river, heading northwest.
