From Sandia Peak Tramway, head south on Tramway Blvd NE. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with NM-532. Turn left onto NM-532 and follow it as it winds up the mountain. Continue on NM-532 for approximately 9 miles until you reach Sandia Crest Scenic Hwy. Turn left onto Sandia Crest Scenic Hwy. The Ellis Trailhead will be on your right. There is no entrance fee for accessing the trailhead.
