Car
If you are driving, start from downtown Santa Fe. Head north on St. Francis Drive (US-84) and continue until you reach the junction with NM-599. Take NM-599 North towards Los Alamos. After about 12 miles, take the exit for US-84/285 North towards Española. Continue for approximately 15 miles, then take the exit for NM-503 towards the Santa Fe National Forest. Follow NM-503 for about 10 miles until you reach the Chamisa Trailhead parking area, located on the right side of the road. Make sure to have a National Forest Pass, which can be purchased online or at the local ranger station.
Public Transportation
For those relying on public transportation, you can take the Santa Fe Trails bus service. Board the 'Blue Bus' route from downtown Santa Fe, which travels towards the local areas. However, please note that public transport may not take you directly to Chamisa Trailhead. You will need to disembark at the nearest stop along NM-503.
