Getting There

• Walking

  Start your journey at the Socorro Plaza located at 100 Park Ave, Socorro, NM 87801. From the Plaza, head east on Park Ave toward California St. Continue straight onto Manzanares Ave, following it until you reach NM-60. Turn left onto NM-60, and walk along the sidewalk until you reach the intersection with NM-1. This route is approximately 1.5 miles. Once you reach NM-1, you will need to find a way to continue to the Quebradas Backcountry Byway. As walking directly to the byway may not be feasible, consider local public transport options or ridesharing services to cover the remaining distance.

• Bicycle

  For an adventurous bicycle ride, start at Socorro Plaza at 100 Park Ave. Head east on Park Ave, then take a right onto California St. Continue straight to Manzanares Ave and follow it until you reach NM-60. Turn left on NM-60 and ride until you reach NM-1. From here, you will need to arrange transportation for the remaining distance to Quebradas Backcountry Byway, as there are limited bike-friendly paths directly leading to it.
