From the Taos Plaza, walk to the nearest bus stop located at the intersection of Paseo del Pueblo Norte and Civic Plaza Drive. Take the Taos Express bus towards Red River (check the schedule for specific times). The bus will take you directly to Red River. Once you arrive at the Red River bus stop, walk south on River Street for about 0.5 miles until you reach 101 River St, where the Red River Nature Trail begins.

If you're near the Taos Plaza, rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops. Head north on Paseo del Pueblo Norte, then take a left onto NM-522 N.
