Walking
Start at the Taos Plaza, a central location in Taos. From the plaza, head south on Paseo del Pueblo Sur for about 0.5 miles. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with NM-68. Cross the highway carefully at the designated crosswalk, and continue walking south on NM-68. After approximately 1.5 miles, look for the entrance to the Carson National Forest on your right. Enter the forest area, and follow the trails marked for Devisadero Loop Trail 108. The trailhead is located about 0.3 miles from the entrance.
Bicycling
Begin your journey at the Taos Plaza. Rent a bicycle from a local rental shop if you do not have one. From the plaza, cycle south on Paseo del Pueblo Sur for about 0.5 miles. At the intersection with NM-68, carefully cross the highway. Continue cycling south on NM-68 for approximately 1.5 miles until you see the entrance to Carson National Forest on the right side of the road. Ride into the forest, and follow the signs directing you to the Devisadero Loop Trail 108 Trailhead, which is about 0.3 miles from the entrance.
Public Transportation
From the Taos Plaza, walk to the nearest bus stop for the Taos Express. Take the Taos Express towards the Taos Ski Valley. Get off at the stop nearest to the Carson National Forest entrance. Once you disembark, walk towards the forest entrance, which should be within 0.3 miles. Follow the marked trails toward the Devisadero Loop Trail 108 Trailhead.
