Getting There

• Walking

  Start at the center of Truth or Consequences, near the intersection of Main Street and Broadway. Head south on Main Street for about two blocks until you reach the intersection with 4th Street. Turn left onto 4th Street and continue walking for approximately half a mile until you reach the corner of 4th Street and River Road. At this point, you'll want to look for a trail or path leading towards the riverbank. Follow the trail along the river for about 1 mile, which will lead you toward the outskirts of town. Keep an eye out for signs indicating the direction toward Candyland, as it is located in a more remote area. If you see any local hikers or residents along the way, don’t hesitate to ask for directions, as they may be familiar with the route.

• Bicycle

  Begin your journey at the Truth or Consequences Visitor Center located on Broadway Street. From there, head west on Broadway until you reach the intersection with 4th Street. Turn left onto 4th Street and continue straight for about 1 mile, where you will then turn right onto River Road. Follow River Road for another mile, maintaining a lookout for any trail signs that indicate the direction to Candyland. Biking along the river can provide a scenic view, but be prepared for some rugged terrain as you approach the mine area.

  Check with local transport providers at the Truth or Consequences Transit Authority to see if there are any buses or shuttles that go towards the outskirts of the city. If there is a public transport option that heads towards River Road, take that route. Once you disembark, you can ask the driver or nearby locals for the best walking path to Candyland, as it is a private mine and might not be directly accessible through public routes. Be sure to confirm the return times for public transport to avoid being stranded.
