Car
If you are driving, start from the Valles Caldera National Preserve Visitor Center. Head east on NM-4 E for about 9 miles. Look for the signs indicating the Cerro Grande Route, which will be on your left. Turn left and follow the signs to the trailhead parking area. There is no fee for parking at the trailhead.

Public Transportation
Currently, there are limited public transportation options directly to Cerro Grande Route. However, you can take a bus to nearby Jemez Springs. From there, it is advisable to use a rideshare service or taxi to reach the trailhead, which is approximately 10 miles from Jemez Springs.
