Experience Dix Mountain Wilderness

Getting There

  • Car

    From Lake Placid, take NY-73 South towards Keene. Continue on NY-73 for about 19 miles until you reach the intersection with NY-9N. Turn left onto NY-9N and continue for approximately 11 miles until you reach North Hudson. Look for signs directing you to the Dix Mountain Wilderness area. You will find the parking area at the end of Dix Mountain Road, which is about 1 mile off NY-9N. There is no fee for parking.

  • Public Transportation

    Take a bus from Lake Placid to Keene Valley via the Adirondack Trailways or a similar service. From Keene Valley, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to take you to the Dix Mountain Wilderness parking area.
