If you're traveling by car, start from the town of Indian Lake. Head north on NY-30 N. Continue on NY-30 N until you reach the intersection with the road to Chimney Mountain. Look for signs indicating 'Chimney Mountain Trailhead' which will be located on your right. The parking area for the trailhead is accessible from this road. There is no fee for parking at the trailhead.
Public Transportation + Hiking
For those using public transportation, take a bus to the nearest town, Indian Lake. From there, taxis or rideshare services may be available, but services can be limited. If you have arranged for a taxi, you can ask them to take you directly to the Chimney Mountain Trailhead. Once you arrive at the trailhead, prepare for a hike.
