Car
From New York City, get on I-87 N from 42nd St and 8th Ave. Follow I-87 N to Palisades Interstate Pkwy in Ramapo. Take exit 15 from I-87 N. Merge onto Palisades Interstate Pkwy and continue for approximately 16 miles. Take the exit toward Bear Mountain State Park. Follow the signs for Bear Mountain and then turn onto Seven Lakes Drive. Continue on Seven Lakes Drive for about 3 miles until you arrive at Trailside Museums & Zoo, located at 3006 Seven Lakes Drive, Bear Mountain, NY 10911. Parking is available on-site.
Public Transportation
Take the Metro-North Railroad from Grand Central Terminal to Peekskill Station. The train ride takes about 1 hour. From Peekskill Station, you can catch the Bee-Line Bus #63, which runs towards Bear Mountain. Get off at the stop closest to Bear Mountain State Park. From there, it’s about a 15 to 20-minute walk to Trailside Museums & Zoo. Be sure to check the bus schedule ahead of time as it may vary.
