    To reach The Buffalo Zoo via public transit, start by locating the nearest NFTA bus stop. If you are near downtown Buffalo, you can take the Metro Bus Route 5 (Elmwood) towards the Elmwood Avenue & Forest Avenue Stop. Once on the bus, ride for approximately 20 minutes. Get off at the stop closest to the intersection of Elmwood Avenue and Parkside Avenue. From there, walk north on Parkside Avenue for about 0.3 miles until you reach the entrance of The Buffalo Zoo at 300 Parkside Ave.

  • Public Transit - Metro Rail

    If you're near the Metro Rail station in downtown Buffalo, board the train heading towards University station. After about 10 minutes, get off at the Allen-Medical Campus station. From there, transfer to the Metro Bus Route 5 (Elmwood) heading towards the Elmwood Avenue & Forest Avenue Stop. Stay on this bus for about 15 minutes and disembark at the stop closest to the intersection of Elmwood Avenue and Parkside Avenue. Walk north on Parkside Avenue for about 0.3 miles until you arrive at The Buffalo Zoo.
