If you are driving, the 10th Ward Memorial is located at Central Ave, Albany, NY 12210. From downtown Albany, head west on State Street toward Eagle Street. Continue onto Central Avenue (NY-5). Follow Central Avenue for about 2 miles. The memorial will be on your right. There is street parking available, but be mindful of parking regulations.
Public Transportation
To reach the 10th Ward Memorial via public transportation, take the CDTA (Capital District Transportation Authority) bus #1 (Central Avenue) from downtown Albany. Board the bus at the Albany Bus Terminal. Stay on the bus for approximately 15 minutes, and get off at the Central Ave & N Allen St stop. Walk about 0.2 miles east on Central Avenue, and you will find the 10th Ward Memorial on your right. The bus fare is approximately $2.00, and be sure to have exact change or a bus pass.
Biking
For those who prefer biking, you can rent a bike from one of the local bike-sharing programs available in Albany. Starting from downtown Albany, head west on State Street, then turn onto Central Avenue. It is about a 2-mile ride. There are bike lanes available, and the memorial will be on your right. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow all traffic laws.
Walking
If you are close enough to walk, from the Albany City Hall located at 24 Eagle St, Albany, NY 12207, head west on State Street towards Eagle Street. Continue onto Central Avenue (NY-5) for about 2 miles. The 10th Ward Memorial will be on your right. This is a pleasant walk, but be sure to stay on sidewalks and cross streets safely.
