Car
From any location in Fire Island, take the Fire Island Ferry to Sayville. Once you arrive at Sayville, get onto NY-27 (Long Island Expressway) East. Continue on NY-27 for about 15 miles. Take the exit for William Floyd Parkway South (exit 60). Continue on William Floyd Parkway for approximately 5 miles until you reach the entrance of Smith Point County Park at 1 William Floyd Pkwy, Shirley, NY 11967. Note that there is a parking fee of approximately $8 for the day.
Public Transportation
Begin your journey at the nearest Fire Island ferry terminal and take the ferry to Sayville. From Sayville, you can take the Suffolk County Transit Bus Route S61 towards Mastic-Shirley. Ride the bus for about 20 minutes until you reach the stop for William Floyd Parkway. From there, it is a short walk to Smith Point County Park, located at 1 William Floyd Pkwy, Shirley, NY 11967. Be sure to check the bus schedule for the latest times and fares, as the bus fare is typically around $2.75.
