From Hudson, walk to the Hudson Amtrak station located at 1 Hudson Ave. Take the Metro-North Railroad's Hudson Line towards Grand Central Terminal. Get off at the Cold Spring station, which is approximately a 20-minute ride. Once you arrive at Cold Spring station, exit and walk towards Main St. Turn left onto Main St and continue walking until you reach the intersection with NY-9D. Turn right onto NY-9D and follow it for about 1 mile until you reach the entrance to Hudson Highlands State Park at 3260 NY-9D.

From Hudson, head to the nearest bus stop on Warren St. Take the Dutchess County Public Transit bus (Route 12) towards Beacon. Ride the bus for approximately 30 minutes until you reach the stop at Route 9D. Once you get off, walk south on Route 9D for about 0.5 miles to reach the entrance of Hudson Highlands State Park at 3260 NY-9D.

If you prefer biking, rent a bike from one of the local rental shops in Hudson. From Hudson, take the Hudson River Greenway Trail south until you reach Cold Spring.
