Walking
Start at the Hudson Amtrak Station located at 1 North Front Street, Hudson, NY. Exit the station and head east on North Front Street toward Warren Street. Turn left onto Warren Street and continue walking until you reach the intersection with Route 9. Cross Route 9 and continue walking on the Hudson River waterfront along the Riverwalk Trail. Follow the Riverwalk Trail, which will lead you along the river. Continue until you reach the Saugerties area, where the trail will guide you toward the Saugerties Lighthouse. Note that this is a long walk, approximately 10 miles, so be prepared for a lengthy journey.

Rent a bike from one of the local bike rental shops in Hudson. Start from the Hudson Amtrak Station and head south on North Front Street toward Warren Street. Turn left onto Warren Street and continue to Route 9. Cross Route 9 and follow the Hudson River on the designated bike paths. Continue along the riverfront until you reach Saugerties Lighthouse. This route is approximately 10 miles and offers scenic views of the Hudson River.

From Hudson, walk to the Hudson Amtrak Station. Take the Amtrak train heading toward Kingston. After arriving at the Kingston station, transfer to a local bus service or a taxi that can take you to Saugerties. Ask the bus driver for the stop nearest to Saugerties Lighthouse, which is located at 168 Lighthouse Drive, Saugerties, NY 12477. From the bus stop, it is a short walk to the lighthouse.
