From Hunter Mountain, get onto NY-23A W and head towards Tannersville. Continue on NY-23A W for about 9 miles until you reach the junction with NY-32. Turn left onto NY-32 S and follow it for approximately 4 miles. Then, turn right onto NY-212 W and continue for about 3 miles. Finally, turn left onto Lighthouse Drive, where you will find the Saugerties Lighthouse at the end of the road. Parking is available nearby.
Public Transportation
If you prefer public transportation, you can take a bus from Hunter Mountain to Kingston. The Trailways bus service operates from the Hunter area to Kingston. Once you arrive at the Kingston bus terminal, you will need to take a local taxi or rideshare service to reach Saugerties Lighthouse. The taxi ride from the Kingston bus terminal to the lighthouse will take about 20 minutes and may cost around $30-40.
Biking
For those who enjoy biking, you can rent a bicycle in Hunter Mountain and follow the same route as by car. Biking along NY-23A W and NY-32 S offers beautiful views. The total distance is approximately 16 miles, so be prepared for a scenic ride. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow all traffic rules.
