Car
From Hunter Mountain, start by heading northeast on NY-23A E. Follow NY-23A for about 12 miles until you reach the junction with I-87 N. Merge onto I-87 N and continue for about 15 miles. Take exit 24 for NY-32 N toward Voorheesville. Continue on NY-32 N for about 6 miles until you reach the intersection with Thacher Park Road. Turn left onto Thacher Park Road, and after approximately 1 mile, you will arrive at Thacher State Park, located at 830 Thacher Pk Rd, Voorheesville, NY 12186. There is a parking fee of $6 for cars.
Public Transportation
From Hunter Mountain, take the local shuttle or taxi service to the nearest bus station in Tannersville. From there, take the Trailways bus service towards Albany. Upon arriving in Albany, transfer to a local bus (CDTA) that heads to Voorheesville. The closest stop to Thacher State Park is on NY-32. Once you get off, it's about a 1-mile walk to the park entrance at 830 Thacher Pk Rd. Make sure to check the bus schedules in advance for timings and connections as they may vary.
