Bus
From downtown Ithaca, head to the Tompkins Consolidated Area Transit (TCAT) bus terminal located on East Green Street. Take the Route 30 bus towards Watkins Glen. Stay on the bus for about 30 minutes, and request a stop at the Seneca Lake area. After disembarking, follow the signs to the lake which is a short walk from the bus stop.
Walking
If you are staying in the downtown area, you can walk to Seneca Lake. Start at the corner of State Street and Seneca Street. Head west on State Street towards the waterfront. Continue along the waterfront trail, which will lead you directly to the beautiful shores of Seneca Lake. The walk takes approximately 30-35 minutes and offers lovely views along the way.
Bicycle
If you have access to a bicycle, you can ride to Seneca Lake from downtown Ithaca. Head south on Cayuga Street and follow it until you reach the waterfront. From there, continue along the Cayuga Waterfront Trail, which will take you directly to the lake. The ride is approximately 3 miles and should take around 15-20 minutes.
