Walking
Start at the Lake Placid Village Main Street (also known as Route 86). Head east on Main Street towards the intersection with Park Avenue. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Saranac Avenue. Turn left onto Saranac Avenue and proceed until you see the entrance to the Adirondack Riverwalking trail on your right. It is a short walk, approximately 15-20 minutes depending on your pace.
Biking
If you have a bike, you can start at the Lake Placid Public Library on Main Street. Head east towards Park Avenue, and turn left onto Park Avenue. Follow Park Avenue until you reach Saranac Avenue. Turn right onto Saranac Avenue, and then look for the Adirondack Riverwalking trail entrance on your right. This route is approximately 10 minutes by bike.
Public Transportation
Check with the local shuttle service or bus that operates within Lake Placid. Most shuttles have stops in the village and can take you close to the Saranac Avenue area. Once you get off, follow Saranac Avenue towards the entrance of the Adirondack Riverwalking trail which will be on your right. Be sure to ask the driver for the closest stop to the trail.
