Getting There

• Walking

  If you're starting from the Montauk Village area, head east on Main Street until you reach the intersection with South Elmwood Avenue. Turn left onto South Elmwood Avenue and continue until you reach the end of the road, where it intersects with Montauk Highway (Route 27). Turn right onto Montauk Highway and walk approximately 1.5 miles. You will see signs directing you to Montauk Lighthouse. Continue walking until you reach the entrance to the lighthouse area, which will be on your left.

• Biking

  For those who prefer biking, you can rent a bike in Montauk Village. Start at the bike rental shop and head east on Main Street. Turn left onto South Elmwood Avenue and continue to Montauk Highway (Route 27). Turn right onto Montauk Highway and bike east for about 1.5 miles. Look for signs indicating Montauk Lighthouse. The road will lead you directly to the lighthouse area, where you can lock your bike up before exploring.

• Public Transportation

  If you're using public transportation, take the Suffolk County Transit bus (S92) from Montauk Village towards East Hampton. Get off at the stop that is closest to the Montauk Lighthouse entrance, which is located near the intersection of Old Montauk Highway. From the bus stop, it is a short walk to the lighthouse. Follow the signs to Montauk Lighthouse, which will be approximately a quarter-mile from the bus stop.
