Walking
From downtown Poughkeepsie, head southeast on Main Street toward the Hudson River. Continue straight for about 0.5 miles until you reach the Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park. Walk across the bridge, enjoying the views of the Hudson River. Once you reach the New Paltz side, exit the bridge and follow the signs leading to Route 9W North. Continue along Route 9W for approximately 5 miles until you reach the entrance to Kowawese Unique Area. The entrance will be on your right at 90 Plum Point Lane.
Public Transit - Bus
From Poughkeepsie, take the Dutchess County Public Transit bus route that heads toward New Windsor. Board the bus at the Poughkeepsie Transit Hub. Stay on the bus for about 30 minutes until you reach the stop closest to the intersection of Route 9W and Plum Point Lane. From there, walk south on Plum Point Lane for about 0.2 miles until you arrive at the Kowawese Unique Area entrance at 90 Plum Point Lane.
