Car
If you're driving to Napeague State Park, start by heading east on Montauk Highway (NY-27) from your location in The Hamptons. Continue on NY-27 for about 10 miles until you reach the intersection with Lazy Point Road. Turn left onto Lazy Point Road, and follow it for approximately 1 mile. You will see the entrance to Napeague State Park on your right. Look for parking areas near the entrance.
Public Transportation
To reach Napeague State Park using public transportation, find the nearest Hampton Jitney or Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) stop. Take a Hampton Jitney bus heading towards Montauk or a train on the LIRR heading to Montauk. Disembark at the nearest stop to Amagansett. From there, you can either take a taxi or rideshare service for a short ride to Lazy Point Road. If you prefer walking, it's about a 3-mile walk from the Amagansett stop to the park entrance along the scenic route of the area.
Bicycle
For the more adventurous travelers, biking to Napeague State Park is a great option. If you are in the vicinity of Amagansett, rent a bike from a local rental shop. From Amagansett, head east on Montauk Highway (NY-27) and then turn onto Lazy Point Road. Biking is a delightful way to enjoy the scenery, but be cautious of traffic on the highway. It’s around a 3-mile ride from Amagansett to the park entrance.
