Public Transit - Train
From White Plains, head to the White Plains Metro-North train station located at 1 Railroad Avenue. Purchase a ticket to Grand Central Terminal in New York City. Board the Harlem Line train heading towards Grand Central. The journey takes approximately 35 minutes. Once you arrive at Grand Central Terminal, follow the signs to the 42nd Street exit. From there, you can catch the subway or a bus to reach the Lower East Side.
Public Transit - Subway
After arriving at Grand Central Terminal, follow the signs to the 42nd Street subway station. Take the 4, 5, 6, or 7 train from Grand Central. If you take the 4 or 5, get off at Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall Station. From there, transfer to the J or Z train and head towards the Lower East Side. Get off at the Delancey Street stop. This route should take about 20-30 minutes in total.
Public Transit - Bus
From White Plains, you can also take the Bee-Line bus #60 towards New York City. Ride the bus until the last stop, which is the Port Authority Bus Terminal. Once at Port Authority, walk to 42nd Street and take the subway (either the F train towards Brooklyn or the J train towards Jamaica) to get to the Lower East Side. This journey might take up to an hour depending on traffic and wait times.
