Getting There

Train
From Yonkers, head to the Yonkers Metro-North station located at 1 Hudson Street. Board a southbound train on the Hudson Line towards Grand Central Terminal. After approximately 30 minutes, disembark at the Hoboken station. From Hoboken, transfer to a PATH train towards World Trade Center and get off at the World Trade Center station. Finally, from there, take a ferry from Battery Park to Ellis Island. The ferry ride takes about 15 minutes.

Bus and Ferry
Start at the Yonkers Transit Center on 1-5 New Main Street. Take the #1 or #2 bus heading towards New York City. Get off at the Port Authority Bus Terminal. Once there, walk to Battery Park (approximately a 10-minute walk). From Battery Park, board the ferry that goes to Ellis Island. The ferry runs regularly and the trip takes about 15 minutes.

Walking and Subway
If you prefer walking, head to the nearest subway station, which is the Yonkers Subway Station. Take the #1 train towards South Ferry. After several stops, transfer at Times Square-42nd Street to the #4 or #5 train towards Brooklyn. Get off at Bowling Green. From Bowling Green, it’s a short walk to Battery Park where you can catch the ferry to Ellis Island.
