Train
To get to the Empire State Building from Yonkers, start by walking to the Yonkers Metro-North train station. Once there, purchase a ticket to Grand Central Terminal in Manhattan. Board the train heading for Grand Central, which typically takes around 30 minutes. After arriving at Grand Central, follow the signs to exit onto 42nd Street. From there, walk west along 42nd Street until you reach 6th Avenue. Turn south (left) on 6th Avenue and continue walking until you reach 34th Street. The Empire State Building, located at 20 W 34th St., will be on your right.
Bus
You can also take a bus from Yonkers to New York City. Head to the nearest bus stop servicing the Bee-Line Bus System. Look for the BxM4C or BxM4 buses that go directly to Manhattan. Upon boarding, inform the driver you want to get off at 34th Street. The trip will take approximately 40-60 minutes depending on traffic. Once you disembark, walk a short distance east on 34th Street, and you will find the Empire State Building at 20 W 34th St.
Walking
If you are near the Yonkers waterfront, you can enjoy a scenic walk towards the Empire State Building. Start by heading east towards the Hudson River and follow the path along the waterfront. Walk north on the Hudson River Greenway until you reach the Yonkers Metro-North station. From there, you can take the train as mentioned earlier. Alternatively, this route is longer and not the most efficient without public transportation.
