Subway
From Yonkers, make your way to the Yonkers Metro-North train station. Take the Hudson Line train heading south towards Grand Central Terminal. After approximately 20 minutes, disembark at the 125th Street station in Harlem. From there, transfer to the A subway line (blue line) heading downtown towards Far Rockaway. Ride the A train for about 8 stops until you reach the Jay St-MetroTech station. Exit the subway and walk towards the exit for Cadman Plaza West. Once you are on Cadman Plaza West, the Brooklyn War Memorial will be located a short walk away on your right.
Bus
Head to the nearest bus stop in Yonkers and catch the Bee-Line Bus #1 towards the Bronx. Ride the bus until you reach the White Plains Metro-North station. From there, take the Metro-North train southbound to Grand Central Terminal. Once at Grand Central, transfer to the 4, 5, or 6 subway lines (green line) and head to the Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall station. At the Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall station, transfer to the A subway line (blue line) and take it to Jay St-MetroTech. Exit the subway and walk towards Cadman Plaza West, where the Brooklyn War Memorial is located.
Walking
If you are near the waterfront promenade in Yonkers, start by walking south along the river until you reach the Yonkers train station. From there, take the Hudson Line train towards Grand Central Terminal. After approximately 20 minutes, get off at the 125th Street station. Transfer to the A subway line downtown towards Far Rockaway and ride for 8 stops until you reach Jay St-MetroTech. Exit the subway, walk towards Cadman Plaza West, and the Brooklyn War Memorial will be a short distance ahead.
