To reach Matiatia Walk on Waiheke Island, start your journey at the downtown Auckland ferry terminal located at 99 Quay Street. Purchase a ticket from the kiosk or online for the Waiheke Island ferry. The ferry ride takes approximately 40 minutes and offers beautiful views of the Hauraki Gulf. Once you arrive at Matiatia Wharf, exit the ferry and follow the signs to Alan Murray Lane. The Matiatia Walk begins just a short walk from the wharf, taking you to beautiful hiking trails and scenic vistas.

If you are already on Waiheke Island, you can take a local bus from Oneroa or another nearby location. Check the local bus timetable to catch the bus that heads towards Matiatia. Once you get off the bus, walk towards Alan Murray Lane, which is near the Matiatia Wharf. The walk to the entrance of the hiking area will be straightforward, with signs directing you to the trailhead.
