Ferry
To reach the Museum of Waiheke from Auckland, begin your journey at the Auckland Ferry Terminal located at 99 Quay Street, Auckland Central. Look for the signs directing you to the Waiheke Island ferries. Purchase a ticket from the ticket office or kiosk at the terminal. Ferries to Waiheke operate frequently, so check the schedule to find the next departure. Once on board, enjoy the scenic 40-minute ferry ride across the Hauraki Gulf. Disembark at the Matiatia Wharf on Waiheke Island.

Bus
After exiting the ferry at Matiatia Wharf, you can take the local bus service to reach the Museum of Waiheke. Look for the bus stop near the ferry terminal. Board the bus heading to Onetangi or Palm Beach. Inform the driver that you wish to get off at the bus stop near the Museum of Waiheke. The bus ride will take approximately 25 minutes. The closest bus stop to the museum is Onetangi Road, which is a short walk to the museum entrance.

Walking
If you prefer to walk from the Matiatia Wharf to the museum, you can follow the scenic coastal path. From the ferry terminal, head towards the main road and follow the signs to Onetangi Road. The walk will take about 1 hour and is approximately 5 kilometers. The route offers beautiful views of the island and the coastline. Once you reach Onetangi Road, the museum will be on your left at 165 Onetangi Road.
