Start your journey from Auckland's city center. Head to the nearest bus station, which is the Auckland Britomart Transport Centre. From there, take the bus number 600 towards One Tree Hill. The journey will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the 'One Tree Hill' bus stop, disembark and walk towards the One Tree Hill Domain. Follow the signs leading to the summit. The path will lead you up to the obelisk, which is located at the top of the hill.

Walking
If you are already in the vicinity of One Tree Hill, you can walk to the burial site from the surrounding area. From the One Tree Hill Domain entrance, head straight into the park and follow the main path that leads uphill. There are several walking trails; choose the one that is marked for the summit. As you climb, you will see signs directing you to Sir John’s Burial Site, Obelisk. The walk is about 20-30 minutes depending on your pace.

Bike
For those who prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the local bike rental shops in Auckland. Head towards One Tree Hill using the cycle paths available. There are bike racks available at the entrance of One Tree Hill Domain. Once parked, follow the walking paths leading to the summit where the obelisk is located. The bike ride is roughly 20 minutes from the city center.
