Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the main town of Waitangi, which is around 20 kilometers away from the Basalt Columns. Head south on Te One Road for approximately 10 kilometers. Then, turn left onto Port Hutt Road. Continue on Port Hutt Road for about 8 kilometers until you reach the Basalt Columns. Keep an eye out for signs to help guide you along the way.
Public Transportation
For those relying on public transportation, check the local bus schedule that typically runs from Waitangi to various attractions. You may need to take a bus to the Port Hutt area. Once you reach Port Hutt, you might need to arrange a taxi to cover the remaining distance to the Basalt Columns, as public transport may not operate directly to this site. Be sure to check the latest bus timetable and possibly book a taxi in advance.
Walking
