Start at the Dunedin City Centre. Catch the 'Dunedin Bus' from the Octagon, which is a major hub for public transport. Look for the bus route that heads towards Blackhead. The bus stop is located near the intersection of George Street and Princes Street. Board the bus and enjoy a scenic ride for approximately 20 minutes. Get off at the 'Blackhead' stop. From there, you will need to walk approximately 1.5 kilometers to Tunnel Beach.

Once you disembark at the 'Blackhead' bus stop, head southeast on Blackhead Road. Continue walking straight; the road will lead you to Tunnel Beach. Keep an eye out for signs directing you to Tunnel Beach. The walk will take about 20-30 minutes depending on your pace, and you will be rewarded with beautiful coastal views along the way.

Bicycle
If you prefer to cycle, you can rent a bike from one of the local rental shops in Dunedin. Follow the same route as the bus: start from the Octagon and cycle along George Street. Then take a right onto Blackhead Road. Cycling is a great way to enjoy the fresh air and scenery on the way to Tunnel Beach, which is approximately a 20-minute ride from the City Centre.
