From Fox Glacier, head south on State Highway 6 (SH6) towards Whataroa for about 7.5 km. Look for signs for Lake Matheson on your left. Turn left onto Lake Matheson Road and follow it for about 4 km until you reach the entrance to Lake Matheson. There is a parking area available at the entrance. Note that there may be a small parking fee of around NZD 10.

Some operators provide direct shuttle services for around NZD 20-30 per person. Once you arrive at the Lake Matheson entrance, you will need to pay a small fee for parking if you have a vehicle.
