Getting There

  • Walking

    If you're starting from the Hamilton Central area, head east on Victoria Street towards the river. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Anglesea Street. Turn right onto Anglesea Street and follow it until you reach the bridge over the Waikato River. Cross the bridge, and when you reach the other side, continue straight onto Te Awa River Ride pathway. Follow the pathway along the river for approximately 2 kilometers. You will see signs for Hamilton Gardens; keep an eye out for them as you approach. When you reach the entrance to Hamilton Gardens, proceed through the gardens until you find Te Parapara.

    From the Hamilton Transport Centre, take the bus route 14 towards Hamilton East. Disembark at the stop on Hungerford Crescent, which is directly adjacent to Hamilton Gardens. After getting off the bus, walk along Hungerford Crescent towards the gardens entrance. Te Parapara is located within Hamilton Gardens, so simply follow the signs once you enter the gardens.
